Warranty

At Faire & Fine, we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of every piece we make.

Our warranties protect against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Fine jewellery is designed to be worn and enjoyed, but it will naturally experience wear over time. Normal wear and tear, accidental damage and the loss of diamonds or gemstones are therefore not covered by our warranties.

Lifetime Warranty - Engagement Rings

All Faire & Fine engagement rings are covered by our Lifetime Manufacturer's Warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.

If your engagement ring develops a fault that we determine to be the result of a manufacturing defect, we will repair the item or replace the affected component at our discretion, free of charge.

The Lifetime Warranty applies for the lifetime of the original purchaser, subject to the conditions set out below.

What is a Manufacturing Defect?

A manufacturing defect is a fault in the materials or workmanship of the piece that results from the manufacturing process.

Each warranty claim will be assessed by Faire & Fine. If, following inspection, we determine that an issue has resulted from normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse or another excluded cause, it will not be covered by the warranty.

As our jewellery is handcrafted, slight variations between pieces are normal and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Fine Jewellery Warranty
  • Jewellery and diamonds that have been properly cared for and not exposed to excessive force or harsh conditions.
  • Jewellery and diamonds that have been stored and worn according to our care guidelines.
  • Jewellery and diamonds purchased directly through our website or store.
One-Year Warranty – Fine Jewellery

Faire & Fine fine jewellery, including earrings, necklaces and bracelets, is covered by a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects from the original date of purchase.

If your jewellery develops a manufacturing fault during this period, we will assess the piece and, where the issue is covered by the warranty, repair the item or replace the affected component at our discretion, free of charge.

The One-Year Warranty applies to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

What Isn't Covered

Our Lifetime and One-Year Warranties do not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Scratches, dents, marks or changes to the finish of the metal
  • Worn, bent, damaged or broken claws or settings resulting from wear or impact
  • Misshapen, bent or damaged bands
  • Accidental damage, knocks or excessive force
  • Damage caused by misuse or improper care
  • Damage caused by chemicals, heat or other harsh conditions
  • Loss of diamonds, gemstones or other stones
  • Loss or theft of the jewellery
  • Damage caused by repairs, resizing or alterations carried out by a third party

The loss of a diamond or gemstone is not covered by our warranty.

Stone settings and claws can wear or become damaged over time, particularly on jewellery worn every day. We therefore strongly recommend maintaining suitable jewellery insurance to protect against accidental damage, loss, theft and stone loss.

International Warranty Claims

Our warranty services extend to customers outside the UK; however, shipping costs for warranty claims are the customer’s responsibility. For assistance, please contact our Customer Service team at contact@faireandfine.com.

Conditions of Warranty

To ensure your Faire & Fine warranty remains valid, the following conditions apply:

  • The warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.
  • Proof of purchase may be required when making a warranty claim.
  • Engagement rings covered by our Lifetime Warranty must be professionally inspected and serviced by Faire & Fine at least once every two years. Failure to do so may invalidate the Lifetime Warranty.
  • The jewellery must have been used and cared for in a manner appropriate for fine jewellery.
  • Any fault must be assessed by Faire & Fine before it can be confirmed as a manufacturing defect.
  • Faire & Fine reserves the right to determine, following inspection, whether an issue is the result of a manufacturing defect, normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse or another excluded cause.
  • Repairs, resizing or alterations carried out by a third party may affect the warranty where that work has caused or contributed to the fault, or prevents us from determining its cause.
  • Where a claim is accepted under warranty, Faire & Fine will determine the appropriate remedy, which may include repair or replacement of the affected component.
  • The warranty does not provide monetary compensation for faults, damage or loss.
  • Customers are responsible for safely returning jewellery to Faire & Fine for inspection and for any associated shipping costs, unless otherwise agreed.

These warranty conditions are provided in addition to, and do not affect, your statutory rights.

Inspections & Cleaning

We offer complimentary professional inspections and cleaning for Faire & Fine engagement rings.

As part of the Lifetime Warranty conditions, engagement rings must be returned to Faire & Fine for inspection and servicing at least once every two years.

During an inspection, we will check the condition of the ring, including its claws and settings, to identify signs of wear or damage.

If maintenance or repairs are required as a result of normal wear and tear, we will explain the recommended work and any associated costs before proceeding. Maintenance and repairs resulting from normal wear and tear are not covered by the Lifetime Warranty.

We recommend annual inspections for engagement rings that are worn every day, even though the warranty requirement is once every two years.

Resizing, Repairs & Alterations

Resizing, repairs and alterations carried out by Faire & Fine will not invalidate your warranty.

Work carried out by another jeweller may affect your warranty where that work has caused or contributed to the fault, or prevents us from determining whether an issue is the result of a manufacturing defect.

Where repair or maintenance work is required but is not covered by the warranty, we will provide details of the recommended work and any associated costs before proceeding.

Your Statutory Rights

Our Lifetime Warranty and One-Year Warranty are provided in addition to your statutory rights and do not affect your rights under applicable consumer law.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

If you believe your jewellery has developed a manufacturing defect, please contact us at contact@faireandfine.com with your order details and a description of the issue.

We will usually need to inspect the jewellery before confirming whether an issue is covered by the warranty.

If the issue is covered, we will carry out the appropriate repair or replacement in accordance with the terms of the warranty.

If the issue is not covered, we will explain the available repair options and any associated costs before carrying out any work.

Customers are responsible for securely sending their jewellery to Faire & Fine for assessment and for return shipping costs unless otherwise agreed.
