Designing a bespoke engagement ring starts with a conversation. You can arrive with a detailed idea, a few saved photographs or simply a preference for a particular shape. At Faire & Fine, Matt and Harry guide you through the decisions before your ring is made in our London workshop.

1. Share your ideas, budget and timing

Begin with a complimentary consultation in Hatton Garden or remotely. Tell us the styles you like, your preferred budget and any proposal date. Our bespoke engagement rings start from £3,000, with the final quote based on the stone and design.

2. Choose your diamond or gemstone

Explore lab grown diamonds, natural diamonds or coloured gemstones. We discuss the stone’s dimensions, appearance and suitability for your design. A moving video or in-person comparison can help you assess details that a specification sheet cannot show. Our diamond guide is a useful introduction.

3. Develop the design

We work through sketches and CAD to refine the setting, band and proportions. Think about practical details as well as the view from above: setting height, comfort and the way a wedding band will fit. Share what you like and what you want to change before the design is finalised.

4. Review a 3D printed model

A printed model helps you understand the ring’s scale and proportions before manufacture. It is a design aid rather than a finished precious-metal ring, but it gives you another way to assess the shape and dimensions. Review any final adjustments with us before approving the design.

5. Approve the design for manufacture

Once the final design is approved, we handcraft your ring in our London workshop. Manufacture usually takes 4–8 weeks from final design approval. The consultation, stone selection and design development happen before that period. We confirm the timing for your commission; tell us about a deadline at the first consultation.

6. Arrange collection or delivery

When the ring is complete, we share photographs and videos before collection or shipment. We also discuss sizing and aftercare. Read the applicable warranty and delivery information as part of your order.
